Position Summary

The Wesley Hospital is seeking the expertise of a Registered Nurse with qualifications and experience in Infection Prevention and Control 

 

Remuneration Value: $47.53 - $50.92 p/h (FTE $93, 919 - $100,618) + Super + NFP Salary Packaging + Shift Penalties + Allowances

Your Role:

 

You'll be required to have a demonstrated interest and sound clinical knowledge in the principles of Infection Prevention & Control, and knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. Principal responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Attend chart reviews and enter Riskman reports for infection prevention & control surveillance.
  • Conduct staff and patient education
  • Assist with hand hygiene auditing.
  • Audit compliance with Infection Prevention and Control Standards
  • Data entry of staff health and immunizations
  • Provide staff with vaccinations under the Staff health Protocol
  • Knowledge and commitment to Quality Management and Accreditation processes

You'll demonstrate: 

  • Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control (or willingness to achieve same)
  • Accreditation as hand hygiene auditor with the NHHI (or willingness to obtain)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant Infection Prevention and Control experience.
  • Well developed and demonstrated skills in:
    • Problem solving and analytical skills
    • Organisation skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, Doctors, consumers and carers

Ideally, the applicant will be required to demonstrate their ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment using a values based leadership framework.  This is a part-time position with the hours of work and level of position to be negotiated.
