St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital is a 250 bed facility in Spring Hill. Facilities at St Andrew’s include 15 theatres, three cardiology catheter laboratories, endoscopy suites, an intensive care unit and emergency centre. St Andrew’s is a world leader in patient outcomes for many of our specialties. We achieve this by attracting the best staff and medical practitioners and carefully auditing and improving on the outcomes of our treatments.

 

Based in our Cardiac Catheter Theatres, you will be a member of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.  Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will deliver cardiac scientific clinical support for –

  • Cardiac catheterisation & coronary angiography;
  • Percutaneous cardiac intervention;
  • Cardiac Electrophysiology including complex ablation & 3-D mapping;
  • Cardiac rhythm device therapy implant & follow-up.

 We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and highly skilled Cardiac Physiologist (Scientist) who can demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (with strong human physiology component);
  • Extensive experience in diagnostic cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention procedures;
  • Post-graduate clinical experience in a cardiovascular suite performing haemodynamic monitoring (desirable);
  • Post-graduate clinical experience in cardiac electrophysiology & cardiac rhythm device therapy implant procedures (desirable);
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills;
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills (written & verbal);
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Desire to actively participate in ongoing professional development;
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including rostered on-call).

IBHRE certified electrophysiology specialists/cardiac device specialists and candidates with a Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Electrophysiology (CEPIA) will be highly regarded.
