Position Summary

St Stephen's Hospital in Hervey Bay is Australia's first fully integrated digital hospital. Since October 2014 when the hospital opened, Fraser Coast residents ​have access to one of the country’s most advanced healthcare facilities. St Stephen’s Hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient medical services, as well day surgery. Part of UnitingCare Health, St Stephen’s Hospital is the only not-for-profit provider of private hospital services on the Fraser Coast. 

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Ward in a new Permanent Part Time Opportunity


You will be accountable for:

  • The delivery of safe, holistic nursing care to patients and their families
  • Applying clinical practice which ensures a safe environment and promotes optimal patient outcomes;
  • Effectively communicating information regarding patient responses and care to the nursing team;
  • Utilising customer service principles to exceed patient expectations
  • Applying principles of clinical and workplace risk management

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • 2+ years post graduate experience in a Surgical/Orthopaedic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide patient and family centred care using best practice clinical skills
  • Commitment to professional development
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader would be highly desirable.
