Position Summary

UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

 

We are currently seeking applications from newly graduated Enrolled Nurses interested in transitioning their career to an acute hospital environment.  With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas.  As a Wesley Hospital Enrolled Nurse you will be part of a world-renowned health care team, working in one of Queensland’s most complex and high acuity hospital environments, with state of the art facilities.

 

The Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program is a 12 month, full-time (76 hours per fortnight), program that will support your career progression to working in an acute care setting.  Our Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program will offer placements across the following divisions:

  • Medical;
  • Surgical and;
  • Procedural.

Our program includes:

  • A non-rotational placement in one of our acute care wards or procedural areas for the duration of the program;
  • Full orientation and preceptor program;
  • A caring environment with a network of support services;
  • Extensive educational opportunities including formal courses, workshops and career planning;
  • Flexible rostering and salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.

To be considered for the Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program you must:

  • Have Registration as an Enrolled Nurse, with the Australian  Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Be either an Australian Citizen, an Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand passport holder;
  • Display effective interpersonal skills and be able to build rapport with a diverse range of people;
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development;
