Position Summary

UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

 

The Health Information Unit at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital is seeking a motivated Clinical Coder to join their team on a part time basis.  This position is based at The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital. With our diverse case mix we have approximately 2000 discharges a month offering you the opportunity to gain coding skills across various specialties.  You will have an opportunity to become  part of our friendly, dynamic and flexible team.

 

Ideally the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Qualifications and experience in ICD10-AM coding (essential)
  • Previous experience with the 3M encoder software
  • High level of knowledge in medical terminology
  • Effective communication skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm
  • The ability to work independently or within a team.

Selection Criteria Essential: Successful Completion of ICD 10 AM 9th edition Coding course in a recognised HIMAA or TAFE facility. - Preferably have 2 -3 years of a diverse casemix Coding experience in a private or public hospital. - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team member - Attention to detail or with high level
