The Buderim Private Hospital Education team are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, enthusiastic and experienced current Registered Nurses with a passion for clinical teaching for a casual Student Facilitator.


The Student Facilitator role will see you working with the nursing students during their clinical placement. Clinical placements consolidate the students' knowledge within the real nursing environment, applying theory to practice. The position works closely with the existing Student Facilitators, Education Manager and universities and TAFE, to support undergraduate nursing students throughout Buderim Private Hospital (BPH).


This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in training, assessment and mentoring.


The role will see you make a significant contribution to the education of nursing students and you will also be responsible and accountable for:

  • Planning, facilitating and evaluating the progressive learning and development of students in with their core clinical skills; and   
  • Application and implementation of evidence-based nursing best practice.

To perform the duties of this role you will need to demonstrate the following criteria:


  • Be an experienced Registered Nurse with high level communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate the allocation of available human and material resources
  • Exceptional clinical reasoning and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards of Practice
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching students with experience of preceptorship and support of student midwives / nurses
  • Completion of, or willingness to undertake a Certificate IV (workplace training and assessment)
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to the UnitingCare Health Living Values
