Remuneration Value: $36.43 - $37.71 p/hour (FTE $71, 985 – $74, 514) + 9.5% employee contribution to super, 17.5% annual leave loading + not for profit salary packaging + on call allowance

About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Engineering Department and provide a responsive, high quality effective and efficient maintenance and repair service to the hospital.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Maintenance, repair, installation and monitoring of all mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems, including mobile equipment, trolleys and kitchen equipment
  • Maintenance, repair of air conditioning systems, rotating plant, boilers and steam distribution systems
  • Mechanical support to hospital staff, enabling safe operation of facilities
  • Monitoring operation of hospital services/systems so as to prevent or reduce down time and increase equipment usage.
  • Assisting engineering supervisor/engineer with capital projects and works as directed

You will also participate in an out of hours call roster, ensuring 24-hour coverage for the hospital, and be willing to support with overtime as require to ensure equipment availability as required.

 

You’ll present with;

  • Certificate of Competency as Mechanical Fitter with further studies in Electrical/Hydraulic/Pneumatic systems
  • Mechanical Services Licence
  • Experience with steam boilers, accessories, hot water systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, enabling you to interact with relevant stakeholders to achieve service outcomes
  • High level of organisation sills, with the ability to establish priorities with limited guidance
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
