Position Summary

The Allied Health Metro team is seeking expressions of interest from current employees for the following role –

  • Senior Physiotherapist - Orthopaedics
  • Fixed-term (3 months), Part-time (15.2 hours / week)

Reporting to the Head of Physiotherapy, the Senior Physiotherapist – Orthopaedics will be responsible for contributing to Allied Health Metro's strategic goals and objectives by:

  • Providing a high level of knowledge and expertise in Orthopaedics to ensure excellence in the provision of services and ensure all relevant services are provided in a safe, appropriate, efficient and responsive environment;
  • Promoting continuous improvement for Allied Health staff working within Orthopaedics including training, clinical education and research;
  • Collaborating with the Head of Physiotherapy to provide quality assurance for clinical services provided to patients and their families;
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and ongoing development of Allied Health services across Allied Health Metro within the area of Orthopaedics and collaborating with colleagues across UnitingCare Health;
  • Maintaining a full-time clinical caseload specifically within the Neuromuscular pillar which includes the Orthopaedic work area.

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Tertiary degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution;
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency;
  • Significant clinical experience in a comparable acute hospital and/or ambulatory service setting;
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and high level clinical knowledge, expertise and skills in Orthopaedics;
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing evidence based clinical services;
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and development of Physiotherapy staff and students;
  • Evidence of involvement in quality improvement initiatives, quality assurance and research activities;
  • High level interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Sound computer literacy in Microsoft applications and knowledge of WH&S and clinical risk management requirements.
