We currently have the opportunity for self-motivated technicians to join the Sterilising Department at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital.

St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital is a 250 bed facility in Spring Hill. Facilities at St Andrew’s include 15 theatres, three cardiology catheter laboratories, endoscopy suites, an intensive care unit and emergency centre. St Andrew’s is a world leader in patient outcomes for many of our specialties. We achieve this by attracting the best staff and medical practitioners and carefully auditing and improving on the outcomes of our treatments.

The staff in the Sterilisation department are accountable for the cleaning, checking, packing and sterilisation processes to ensure items are available for procedural areas. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and will be required to work throughout all areas of CSSD over a 7 day / 24 hour roster.

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria: 

• Previous experience in a CSSD
• Possess a Certificate III in Health Sciences - Sterilisation
• The ability to work within a strong multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and an ability to prioritise efficiently
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
• Participate in and initiate quality improvement activities
• Have good verbal and written communication skills
• Possess a strong customer focus
• The ability to use and understand computer use for instrument processing and tracking
