The Wesley Hospital is inviting Nutrition Assistants to apply for a casual opportunity in their Allied Health team!

Our Metro Allied Health team delivers best practice, multi-disciplinary services to our patients in The Wesley and St Andrews, through Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy and more.

 


People caring for people:

 

As a Nutrition Assistant, you will ensure the professional and effective delivery of appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) through: 

  • Ensuring patients on MNT are given an appropriate menu
  • Collecting and checking menus and reinforcing MNT requirements with patients.
  • Updating Cerner Diet Reports
  • Liaising with nursing, food service, ward reception and dietetic staff

You will present with:

  • Bachelor of Health Science Nutrition or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Certificate 4 in Allies Health Assistance in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an allied health assistant
  • Organisation skills and the ability to manage a busy workload to meet deadlines
  • Sound level of interpersonal and written communication skills and interdisciplinary teamwork

Selection Criteria Essential: Bachelor of Health Science Nutrition or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
Essential: Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance in Nutrition and Dietetics + minimum 5 years experience
Essential: Must hold or be eligible to hold a current Blue Card
Essential: Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload to meet deadlines.
Essential: Demonstrated sound level of interpersonal and written communication skills and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Essential: Sound computer literacy in Microsoft Applications and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
