Position Summary

UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) provides health and community services to thousands of people every day of the year.  As the health and community service provider of the Uniting Church we have supported Queensland communities for over 100 years.  Our 15,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers care for and support people from all walks of life, including older people, people with a disability, children, families and Indigenous people. 

 

The purpose of the Contract Officer role is to undertake a range of professional support and administrative functions to assist the effective operation of contract management for UnitingCare Queensland. This is a full-time, 5 month secondment opportunity.

 

The Opportunity:

The Contracts Officer will support the UCQ Legal Team in the delivery of Legal Services functions.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide contract related process support to the organisation including client agreements and funding agreements.
  • Undertake a range of administrative functions concentrating on effective contract management and compliance including contract processing, analysis, filing, correspondence and lodgement.
  • Maintain the data stored in the contract management database to ensure all information is current and accurate.
  • Provide professional support to the business management function to assist legal, tendering, contracting and planning services.
  • Liaising with government departments, service providers and other bodies regarding new, variations and renewals of contracts and funding agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues across the organisation including being assigned to other duties when directed, to achieve strong results across all the activities provided by the organisation.
  • Efficiently and effectively handle telephone calls providing accurate information within the scope of the position.

Your Background:

You will have the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of administration tasks related to managing contracts, planning, reporting and record keeping.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships, demonstrate strong communication and skills, maintain confidentiality, prioritise tasks, self-manage workloads, and to be flexible and proactive.
  • Strong customer-focused attitude, commitment to actively display organisational values, and contribute to team goals
    • Good time management skills and ability to prioritise work loads.
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills

Desired (not essential):

  • Demonstrated experience in Contract/Agreement interpretation
  • Diploma of Business or other relevant qualification and/or legal paralegal or related experience.
  • Experience in delivery of legal services support within a shared services environment.
