Remuneration Value: 43.75 hours per week + 9.5% employee superannuation contribution, not for profit salary packaging, subsidised parking, staff gym. 

 

We are currently seeking applications for the role of a Medical Officer within our Coronary Care Unit!

 

The Wesley Hospital is one of Australia’s iconic and largest private not-for-profit hospitals. From the heart of Brisbane more than 800 Visiting Medical Practitioners and 2, 000 staff deliver personalised care through life’s journey for generations of Queenslanders.

 

The Wesley Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit provides a comprehensive range of tertiary level services to cover the extensive systems and procedural support commensurate with the functions of the hospital. With a total of 19 intensive care beds, it is one of the largest private intensive care facilities in Australia.  The ICU boasts state-of-the-art monitoring technology and equipment and these are upgraded on a regular basis. The ICU participates in quality assurance activities, both locally and nationally, through the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society.

 

 

People caring for people:

 

The successful applicant will join a dynamic team, complimented by experienced nursing staff. The successful applicant will be a Registered Medical Practitioner with special interest and experience in Intensive Care, and will meet the following criteria:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake Insertion of lines e.g. peripheral IVs, CVP lines and arterial lines, hand ventilation and patient transport.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced life support.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake placement of IDCs in both male and female patients when nursing staff cannot.
  • Ability to perform simple suturing of lacerations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with patient's, relatives and staff at all levels of the Hospital in a timely, supportive and respectful fashion.
  • Ability to work in accordance with the values and code of conduct of the Hospital.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
