Position Summary

With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.

 

With over 150 Allied Health Professionals, the team at the Wesley provide exceptional support to our patient community across a range of services and disciplines.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in a Part Time basis, working a fixed term period of 6 months with the potential to extend. 

 

This opportunity would offer the chance to work with our Day Rehab Pain and Neurosurgery Rehabilitation caseloads, providing patient-centred care and support to a range of individuals.

If successful, you will present with:

  • Clinical expertise in the areas of Chronic Pain Management and Neurological Rehabilitation in a day rehab setting. 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a solid level of clinical reasoning and decision making based on current best practice
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to manage a complex and variable caseload
  • Strong interpersonal skills applied effectively within multidisciplinary environment
  • Tertiary Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Commitment to continuing professional development

Selection Criteria Essential: Must have current unconditional registration with AHPRA
Essential: Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised Tertiary Institution
Desirable: Clinical Experience in the areas of Chronic Pain Management and Neurological Rehabilitation in a Day Rehab Setting
Desirable: Available to work part-time hours Monday - Friday. Alternatively available to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday.
