The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital are seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated and committed Registered or Clinical Nurses for appointment to the position of relief Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE). This relief role will be for a minimum of two (2) months and would be working with an Anaesthetics / Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) focus, working closely with the Scrub / Scout CNE.

The key responsibility of this position is to provide support to both novice and experienced nurses to further develop their skills in peri-operative nursing – specifically anaesthetics / PACU. The position also includes developing reviewing policies and procedures, and supporting student nurses undertaking placements.

The successful applicant should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse with current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
• Bachelor of Nursing and or relevant post graduate qualifications
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards)
• Recent experience within the specialised setting – Anaesthetics / PACU role (greater than 5 years experience in this specialty is preferred)
• Proven leadership with mentorship skills for new staff, graduates and students
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to work unsupervised
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Demonstrated computer and digital literacy skills 

Desirable skills

• Evidence of attendance at TSCPH preceptor workshop
• Previous education experience - demonstrated ability to design, implement, manage and assess educational programs, competencies and resources
• Post graduate qualifications in education (or similar)
