Position Summary

UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) provides health and community services to thousands of people every day of the year.  As the health and community service provider of the Uniting Church we have supported Queensland communities for over 100 years.  Our 15,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers care for and support people from all walks of life, including older people, people with a disability, children, families and Indigenous people. 

 

UCQ is currently embarking on a large transformation program to help us to better position ourselves to deliver on our mission and to be sustainable in the long term.  In conjunction with this transformation we are now looking for a Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to join our Digital and Technology team.

 

The Opportunity

 

The PMO Manager will provide leadership, coordination and management in the establishment and operation of one PMO function to govern and support the Digital and Technology project portfolio to deliver value.

This role will work with a range of stakeholders in business and within Digital and Technology to track and monitor the delivery of outcomes. It requires a seasoned PMO professional with a pragmatic approach and highly developed relationship skills.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver UCQ’s strategic direction through management of program management function
  • Provide effective performance management and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, Uniting Church and UCQ Board Policies
  • Provide leadership for one clear, structured approach to the management and governance of Digital and Technology portfolios, programs and projects
  • Engage both business and IT stakeholders involved with project delivery, to achieve alignment with a common approach and a focus on business value
  • Guide the establishment of the Change and Business Improvement practice including the establishment of a resource pool of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Organisational Change Managers and other project resources

Your Background 

 

You will have the following:

  • 3+ years experience as a Manager of a Project Management Office(PMO) 
  • Experience in adapting/evolving a PMO to incorporate innovative delivery approaches (lean, agile )
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a pool of project resources (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Organisational Change Managers)
  • In depth knowledge of best practice for Program Management Offices including project delivery frameworks, processes, methods, tools and techniques, and a pragmatic understanding of the value delivered.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Facilitation skills and an ability to achieve consensus
