The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

  

We currently have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Inventory Technician to join The Wesley Hospital team on a permanent full time basis.

 

The Pharmacy Inventory Technician will be responsible for providing support to UnitingCare Health Pharmacy with ordering and inventory management of pharmaceutical products to enable delivery of a client focused, high quality pharmacy service. 

 

You will be accountable for: 

  • Manage day-to-day operation and control of pharmaceutical stock including acquisition, assembly, transport, storage, rotation and general housekeeping tasks.
  • Accurately maintain, review and monitor records, digital or otherwise for dispensary and imprest stock holdings.
  • Review holdings and maintenance of hospital ward imprest pharmaceuticals;
  • Coordinate stock takes under the guidance of Procurement Team (Cyclical and Quarterly stock takes)
  • Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants in matters relating to ordering and distribution of inventory.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders with respect to reporting, data analysis, extended out of stock issues, recalls and sourcing stock.
  • Assisting with the Pharmacy dispensing workload as required from time to time

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:  

  • Previous experience in Pharmacy practice is essential;
  • Previous experience in inventory management and ordering
  • Ability to work efficiently, with minimum supervision, and prioritise tasks;
  • Prior leadership or management experience is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with healthcare team members, patients and other professionals; 
  • Intermediate to advanced technology and administration skills
  • Previous experience in Hospital Pharmacy practice is preferred but not essential.
