The Wesley Hospital is one of Queensland’s largest private, tertiary hospitals and proudly services over 80,000 patients from Australia and overseas annually.
Established in 1977, The Wesley has grown to be a ‘magnet hospital’ attracting and retaining highly qualified and caring staff. With 538 beds, the hospital employs over 2300 full-time, part-time and casual staff, providing values based holistic care to patients and their families.
Your Role:
Our International Patients Coordinator liaises with Hospital Departments to facilitate access to care for the international patient population, ensuring an efficient process while promoting high levels of patient and physician satisfaction
Your will demonstrate leadership in defining opportunities to expand and improve all aspects of the international patient program, including processes for referrals; receipt and documentation of patient information; dissemination of patient treatment plans and expected length of stay for defined plans of care; and the Visa and financial processes.
A diverse role, you will allocate your time between program development, referral management, and being a key point of contact for all communication around the program.
Your Background:
With over 5 years healthcare and/or management experience within a hospital or outpatient setting, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the private health industry, with intermediate knowledge of medical terminology.
You will be confident working autonomously and inter-departmentally, with a skill for time-managing your work towards competing deadlines. You will have the drive, commitment and enthusiasm to see this program develop and thrive through your excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to customer service and your ability to effectively negotiate solutions.
You’ll demonstrate:
- Experience coordinating access to care for international patients, including comprehensive understanding of international healthcare operations, cultural standards, customs, and relevant economic and political variables (Desirable)
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical financial reporting systems, and debtor procedures.
- Experience utilising SAP, Cerner and Trendcare or equivalent.
- Computer literacy skills at an advanced level with sound numeracy skills

Remuneration Value: Level 5 position, $33.64-$34.43 (FTE $66, 472 - $68, 042), 9.5% employee contribution to super, 17.5% annual leave loading + not for profit salary packaging + discounted employee parking
This is full time, permanent position working 76 hours p/fortnight.
