The position of Cancer Services Team Leader, UnitingCare Health Pharmacy, The Wesley Hospital, has primary responsibility for leading a team of Pharmacists and Technicians in the delivery of high-quality, efficient, in-patient Cancer pharmacy services to the largest of the four UCH facilities and will be required to collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, wider UCH Pharmacy team and external customers.

 

As the Cancers Services Team Leader, you will be accountable for: 

  • Managing, supervising and participating in the efficient and effective dispensing of medication within UCH procedures and policies;
  • Supervising and managing team members including delegation of work and task allocations;
  • Ensuring prescriptions are dispensed according to the National Health Regulations, and records are maintained in accordance with State and Federal legislation;
  • Providing expert advice and assistance as required regarding the management of distribution, dispensing, production and quality assurance of pharmaceutical services;
  • Ensuring controlled drugs are handled and recorded in accordance with state regulations;
  • Additional tasks delegated by the Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy for UCH. 

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA;
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Oncology / Haematology;
  • Demonstrated experience as a registered Pharmacist in a private hospital setting and knowledge of health fund contracts is desirable;
  • Proven Pharmacy leadership, team development and managerial skills in the delivery of Pharmacy Services;
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, experience and skills in Cancer Services including the ability to successfully meet key performance indicator targets within the portfolio;
  • Demonstrated evidence of involvement in quality assurance and risk management activities;
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service is essential;
  • An eye for detail and accuracy;
