Position Summary |
UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) provides health and community services to thousands of people every day of the year. As the health and community service provider of the Uniting Church we have supported Queensland communities for over 100 years. Our 15,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers care for and support people from all walks of life, including older people, people with a disability, children, families and Indigenous people.
UCQ is currently embarking on a large transformation program to help us to better position ourselves to deliver on our mission and to be sustainable in the long term.
The Opportunity
The Director Procurement and Services is accountable for a number of corporate services including procurement, fleet and business support that are delivered across and within the service groups of UnitingCare Queensland to support the achievement of strategic and operational outcomes for the whole organisation.
This role will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the strategic procurement capability and execute the operating model for delivering procurement services across and within the service groups and across the broader UnitingCare Framework.
- Adopting best practice for fleet operations, including development, implementation and management of fleet operations strategies and systems for the supply, maintenance, compliant use and disposal of vehicles, to contribute to delivering value for the organisation.
- Establishing and delivering the business support function for the UCQ corporate office in Ann Street. The role will deliver a service that is customer service focused, well managed and functions seamlessly; including having clarity of roles and documented policies and procedures.
About you
You will have the following:
- Relevant tertiary/professional qualification or equivalent in business
- Substantial experience in leading procurement in very large, complex organisations including accountability for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings and service improvements
- Sound understanding of the procurement challenges across a range of procurement categories
- Experience in health and/or community services procurement would be highly regarded
- Experience working with total cost of ownership, taking into account resource requirements, servicing and on-going consumable requirements
- Understanding of financial principles related to capital purchases
- Experience in delivery of services within a shared services environment and dealing with service groups and sites.
- High level project and change management skills to facilitate delivery of outcomes
- Demonstrated capacity to build relationships and teams across complex organisations
- Proven ability to lead and manage an effective and successful team.
