Position Summary

Wesley Medical Research (WMR) is a not-for-profit organisation that conducts research that focuses on improving patient care and quality of life. Our clinical and applied research aims to discover, test and refine new techniques for better diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.

The organisation's research projects are conducted by its employees, clinicians at The Wesley Hospital and other UnitingCare hospitals, in collaboration with other UnitingCare agencies, industry, research organisations and universities.

We’re currently inviting applications from Registered Nursed for a Clinical Research Coordinator opportunity, managing a caseload of patients in WMR approved clinical trials and applying their clinical skills in the delivery of patient support and service.

This opportunity is a full time role, in a 12 month fixed term contract. 

A diverse role, you will be responsible for:

  • Clinical trial coordination and clinical responsibilities (as required)
  • Research governance administration/assistance with regulatory affairs
  • Recruitment and management of clinical trials participants
  • Assisting with sponsor related activities
  • Management of investigative products
  • Administration of clinical study close-outs
  • Participating in ongoing professional development

You will be a qualified nurse with current AHPRA registration and a minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage communication between patients, medical and scientific staff and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Previous skills and experience in research
  • Experience and current recognised competencies in related clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation and performing electrocardiographs
  • High level of initiative, flexibility and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Medical Software
  • Valid Queensland Driver's License (Essential)
