UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. Allied Health Metro brings together the Allied Health teams from The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital into one clinical service, with a single management team.  The integration has provided opportunities for innovation, efficiencies, growth in services and improved productivity.  Allied Health Metro comprises of support staff and health professionals from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing and Psychology.

 

We are seeking experienced Physiotherapists to join our Allied Health Metro team for a fixed-term period.  Reporting to the Head of Physiotherapy, you will be accountable for: 

  • Planning and actively participating in the provision of physiotherapy services to a wide variety of patient groups;
  • Participating in the establishment of realistic patient outcomes and regularly re-evaluating these;
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and post graduate programs in accordance with AHPRA registration guidelines and hospital accreditation policies;
  • Participating in the provision of education to other staff groups regarding physiotherapy;
  • Liaising with community services to ensure effective continuation of patient care after discharge;
  • Participating in quality assurance and improvement projects;
  • Attending meetings relating to physiotherapy services, patient case management, community liaison and appropriate committees. 

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria: 

  • Degree qualifications in Physiotherapy;
  • Demonstrated, relevant clinical experience or equivalent;
  • Unconditional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is highly desirable;
  • A commitment to continuing professional development and professional quality improvement projects;
  • Ability to work both weekdays and weekends (desirable).
