About the role

 

The role of the Senior Communications Officer is designed to oversee, coordinate and manage communications for internal and external stakeholders related to a Digital and Technology change program.  This position is a 12 month, fixed-term contract.

 

In general, the Senior Communications Officer will be required to: 

  • Influence key stakeholders and establish a positive communications culture within Digital and Technology.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Program Communications Management Plan.
  • Identify and manage the change impacts on and develop appropriate communication strategies.
  • Ensure communication activities deliver agreed outputs, on schedule and to an acceptable quality.
  • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with key channels to distribute the Program change messaging.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate communications to support the program as well as the broader UCQ transformation journey.
  • Develop and maintain the Program’s presence on the intranet professionally as well as other activities to be defined.
  • Attend project meetings to report on communication activities and make recommendations for future communication activities as the program progresses.   

About you

 

You will have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in communication, journalism or related field.
  • Highly experienced in consulting with executive staff and the management of relationships and outcomes, with internal and external parties including stakeholders and consultants.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering effective communications advice and management that supports organisational change management activities in large organisations.
  • Strong track record in applying communications management principles, protocols and methods, and have demonstrated successful application of these within a large, decentralised organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to develop and present complex reports and to facilitate meetings and workshops.
  • Strong customer-focused attitude, commitment to actively display organisational values, and contribute to team goals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and drive to deliver quality results
