An innovative non-for-profit regional hospital, we’re small enough to provide individualised care, but large enough to cover a majority of health needs – offering access to the best specialists with minimal waiting. In the midst of this state-of-the-art facility, it’s our commitment to person-centred care that truly sets us apart.

We provide a comprehensive range of inpatient medical, surgical and rehabilitation services including Cardiac and Cancer Care, Urology, Bariatric, Gynaecology, Respiratory, Haematology, Orthopaedics, Cardiovascular, Endoscopy and Vascular and general surgery. We’re committed to re-investing surplus funds for the development of our hospital, services and employees; creating facilities that utilise leading edge technology and staffed by leaders in their field.

Your Role:

Accountable for the strategic and operational management of Clinical Services, you’ll provide leadership to Nursing and Allied Health Services, ensuring high standards of patient care, appropriate risk management and appropriate resource utilisation across an integrated continuum of care from pre-admission to post discharge from St Stephen's.

You’ll promote improvement in performance and better outcomes for patients through evidence-based care, through the monitoring and reporting of clinical and material KPI’s. Collaborating closely with the hospital’s executive leadership team, you will

  • Play an active role in the management of OHS and Quality initiatives to ensure a safe work environment, injury prevention and the achievement of accreditation.
  • Deputise into the General Manager role as required as well as overseeing responsibility services as directed by the GM

About You:

As an accomplished clinical leader, you will present with significant recent senior leadership experience. Your experience has equipped you with an aptitude for people leadership, and exceptional interpersonal skills to confidently navigate challenging clinical and behavioural scenarios through to optimal outcomes.

You’ll demonstrate skills and experience including:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent, with post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Proven track record in setting strategy with appropriate governance, planning budgets and meeting budget and all other relevant KPI’s
  • Preparation of annual budgets, capital expenditure requests and annual strategic/business plan
