Position Summary |
The Allied Health Metro Division provides all Allied Health services in support of The Wesley and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospitals, and is responsible for the management of Allied Health equipment. The team comprises support staff and health professionals from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Psychology.
We currently have an opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Day Rehabilitation team. As the Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting these professionals and their programs. You will be responsible for:
- Leadership and management of the administration team, including team building, task delegation, development and promotion of a positive and cooperative working environment, process and procedural reviews and compliance with relevant legislation;
- Ensuring the team meet customer service standards and comply with relevant policies and procedures;
- Supporting the Outpatient Services Manager in all aspects of team management;
- Maintaining the privacy of health information and a high level of confidentiality;
- Maintaining accurate records and providing timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation;
- Managing the human resources aspects of the administrative team including, recruitment, inductions, training, rosters, leave management;
- Keeping abreast of HIC, private fund and Worker’s Compensation activities in the marketplace and its impact on billing requirements;
- Maintaining and awareness of current and new legislation to ensure business is complying with all statutory and regulatory obligations;
- Other duties as directed by the Outpatient Services Manager.
This is an extremely rewarding role will allow you to demonstrate your relationship building skills, time management abilities and your initiative and judgement to effectively manage and prioritise tasks to meet department objectives.
Ideally you will have:
- A minimum of Certificate III in Business or equivalent;
- Proven experience in a Specialist environment;
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and relationship building;
- Demonstrated understanding of human resource practices;
- Knowledge of contractual agreements and documentation regarding Private Health Funds, HIC, DVA, Third Party and Worker’s compensation billing and relevant legislation;
- Sound computer literacy skills in Microsoft applications, SAP and other financial and practice management systems;
- Proven time management and attention to detail;
- Experience in leading teams and dealing with a diverse group of people.
