Position Summary

We are currently inviting applications for a Manager, Health Information Services to join Buderim Private Hospital.

 

Buderim Private Hospital is one of the Sunshine Coasts largest private facilities. Your role:

As a Health Information Services Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management and strategic planning in all aspects relating to the Health Information/ Medical Record Services. Buderim Private Hospital will be implementing a Digital Medical Record (DMR) in February 2022, this role will be the key point of contact for the developing digital medical record strategies and ensuring appropriate workflows and tools have been implemented across the hospital.

You will:

  • Lead and promote the accurate, complete and timely documentation of clinical information
  • Provide health information management expertise for various strategic initiatives, including new health services and IT projects
  • Coordinate issue resolution and the development of risk management plans
  • Develop and maintain health information management policies and data management tools for the hospital
  • Coordinate issue resolution and the development of risk management plans
  • Undertake the ongoing review of Health Information Services processes to ensure optimum efficiency, recruitment, training and development of staff

What you’ll bring:

As a skilled professional, your background as a Health Information Manager will enhance your exceptional knowledge of patient information systems. You will have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; enabling you to build strong, effective relationships, both within your team and external industry groups. In addition to the above you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management
  • Working knowledge of patient data collections, storage, management and analysis, including legislative requirements, national standards, quality standards and policy, with the ability to provide advice on such matters
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM, ACHI, ACS and AR-DRGs
  • Advanced critical analysis, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Clear aptitude for problem-solving 

With a passion for this field, you are confident in providing best practice health information management advice for new technologies and IT projects. You will be confident navigating industry specific challenges such as research protocols, medico-legal requirements, and the management of information under the Privacy Act. You will be confident in the National Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards and familiar with the importance of accurate timely coding on the hospital revenue cycle.
