The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

The Wesley Hospital is one of Queensland's largest private hospitals with the Food Services Department being one of the most dynamic divisions of the hospital. With over 530 beds, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of clinical services across 35 areas of speciality with over 800 accredited referring specialists.

The Food Services Department is currently seeking applications from dedicated leaders to join their team as a Shift Leader. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Food Services, you will lead by example, supporting the Food Services team to ensure we continue to provide exceptional customer service.  You will be confident in your ability to make decisions and communicate outcomes. The team works in a busy, fast-paced environment and this is a key position, ensuring the coordination of the team and workflows throughout each shift.

 In addition to your exceptional leadership and customer service skills, to be successful in this role you will also require:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Office experience in a customer service focussed environment;
• Demonstrated ability to understand Enterprise Agreements and the terms and conditions that specifically impact on rosters, staff penalty payments, overtime, etc.;
• Prior experience in a supervising role in food services or hospitality environment preferred;
• Certificate III in Hospitality in the workplace or equivalent workplace experience;
• The ability to work a 7 day rotating roster;
• Willingness and ability to work a combination of shifts across a 24 hour period;
• The ability to work collaboratively with other Shift Leaders;
• Ability to train and develop staff in key areas of accountability;
• Ability to learn new processes and procedures and work closely with other departments to meet business objectives.
