To further support this, the Group General Manager Clinical Governance  is a newly created role that will lead the development of strategy and frameworks to support clinical care and quality governance for Aged Care & Community Services (ACCS) and Hospitals aligned with the mission, vision and values of UnitingCare, which will in turn strengthen service delivery.  In addition, this role will develop and enable the implementation of the research strategy for ACCS and Hospitals.

Core accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the development of quality management strategies, frameworks and projects across ACCS and Hospitals, in order to develop a culture of quality improvement at all levels in these services that is compliant with all regulatory requirements;
  • Drive the creation of innovative models of care and the delivery of high-quality care governance and quality functions, utilising customer metrics to make customer focused decisions;
  • Ensure the utilisation of best practice, evidence-based models for clinical governance including quality and safety, clinical reporting and innovation in models of care;
  • Advise on the implementation of risk and quality management policies, practices and standards to enable a consistent approach to achieving business objectives throughout ACCS and Hospitals;
  • Lead the identification and implementation of ongoing process improvement to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all facilities and services;
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of systems to reduce risk of harm to patients, clients and residents of our services;
  • Support the implementation of clinical research throughout our services and actively engage with Wesley Medical Research.

 

ABOUT YOU:

The successful applicant will ideally present with the following:

  • Health & Community Services Related Degree or Qualification;
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Risk Management, Quality Management or Clinical Governance (or related discipline);
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and/or clinical experience in service delivery and quality systems in either the aged care, community care or health sectors in a senior role;
  • Knowledge of contemporary continuous quality improvement practices;
  • Proven professional leadership qualities, working as part of a leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, providing advice and implementing initiatives to deliver on organisational objectives; 
  • A thorough understanding of Accreditation requirements quality cycle, and evaluation and evidence requirements;
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with executives, members of the clinical, professional, and industry sectors, and the general community
  • Demonstrated high level understanding of person-centred service delivery.
