UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 3800 people.

 

With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.

 

The Wesley Rehabilitation Service and Pain Clinic offer multidisciplinary outpatient services for patients with both acute and chronic conditions.  We currently have an opportunity for a Practice Manager to join our team to provide efficient and effective program management of the clinical rehabilitation services provided within ambulatory rehabilitation.  As the Practice Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Health professionals and their programs and will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimum patient outcomes and satisfaction through effective collaboration and coordination of clinical services;
  • Providing quality service through cost effective procurement and allocation of materials and human resources;
  • Ensuring all financial key performance indicators are achieved, including daily billing targets, referral processing timeframes and labour management;
  • Developing and managing the departmental budget to achieve financial and organisational projections;
  • Managing priorities, time, resources and workloads to meet the demands of the department;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Doctors and other clinical professionals;
  • Implement effective reporting systems for relevant organisational impacts;
  • Other duties as required.

This  is an extremely rewarding role will allow you to demonstrate your relationship building skills, time management abilities and your initiative and judgement to effectively manage and prioritise tasks to meet department objectives.

 

Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in Practice Management of clinical services;
  • Proven experience in the planning, development and implementation of outpatient clinical services and service lines;
  • Significant leadership, team development and managerial skills in the delivery of outpatient clinical services;
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and relationship building;
  • Experience and expertise in scheduling, billing and resource management in an outpatient clinical setting;
  • Sound computer literacy skills in Microsoft applications, SAP and other financial and practice management systems;
  • Post graduate qualifications in leadership or management and experience in a private hospital setting is desirable, but not essential.
