The Wesley Hospital is one of Australia’s iconic and largest private not-for-profit hospitals. From the heart of Brisbane more than 800 Visiting Medical Practitioners and 2, 000 staff deliver personalised care through life’s journey for generations of Queenslanders.

We offer comprehensive care across a wide range of acute, tertiary-level medical and surgical services, and through research and education we’re constantly searching for the latest in treatment techniques and processes. We show consideration for the whole person, and not just their physical health, placing our patients and their loved ones at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role:

A key role within Endoscopy, you will effectively deliver quality sterilisation services to the department, through maintaining infection control standards and practicing high standards of disinfection and sterilisation of equipment. You will coordinate your own activities throughout the day, documenting your work, and maintaining accountability for the safe and sterile delivery and assembly of equipment prior to procedures.

Your previous experience has equipped you with sound knowledge of GESA/GENCA infection control standards within Endoscopy, as well as the relevant Australian standards and guidelines used in the prevention of transmission of infectious diseases. You are highly competent in the entire sterilisation process – in particular as it relates to the cleaning of endoscopic equipment.

You’ll present with:

  • Certificate in Sterilisation Technology or equivalent
  • Previous endoscope reprocessing experience
  • Excellent instrument knowledge and ability to assemble endoscopes
  • Strong ability to work co-operatively and independently within a team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving, identifying opportunities to resolve issues and identify quality improvements within scope of your role
  • Industry body membership (desirable not essential).

We’ll look after you too:

Our people mean the world to us. We do everything we can to ensure they enjoy opportunities and benefits that are as inspiring and rewarding as the fantastic work they do. Flexibility, development, and a values-led culture are just some of the experiences you’ll have here at UnitingCare.
