Position Summary

St Stephen's Hospital in Hervey Bay is Australia's first fully integrated digital hospital. Since October 2014, this state-of-the-art ‘hospital of the future’ provides vital medical and surgical services to the Fraser Coast and showcases how technology can transform the healthcare experience. Part of UnitingCare Health, St Stephen’s Hospital is the only not-for-profit provider of private hospital services on the Fraser Coast. 

 

We are currently seeking several Physiotherapists to become integral members of our Allied Health Team. We are open to experienced and new graduate therapists working fulltime (76hrs/fortnight) on a permanent and/or temporary contract

 

You will have the opportunity to apply your skills, while building valuable experience within a highly diverse acute and subacute setting. Through delivering our patients a wide range of specialist services, we offer a rare opportunity to work with a diverse patient case load as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.

 

As a physiotherapist within the allied health department you will have the opportunity to work across all areas of St Stephen’s Hospital including rotations through general medical wards, surgical wards (including orthopaedics) and our 20 bed inpatient rehab unit.

 

We also offer multidisciplinary day rehabilitation programs and cardiac rehab services in our newly built state of the art gym. Being part of UnitingCare health we also have strong connections to the Metro hospitals for ongoing professional development and further career opportunities.

 

If successful you will present with: 

  • Tertiary Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Current unconditional registration with AHPRA
  • Experience within a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver treatment plans based on sound clinical reasoning and  current best practice
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills including relationship management and interdisciplinary team work
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety and clinical risk management requirements

Ideally will have experience across the areas of Orthopaedics, Medical, Surgical and Inpatient Rehabilitation
