Position Summary

Business Support Team Leader

 

UnitingCare Queensland (UCQ) provides health and community services to thousands of people every day of the year through its service groups – UnitingCare Health, UnitingCare Community, Blue Care and ARRCS (Australian Regional and Remote Community Services). As the health and community service provider of the Uniting Church we have supported Queensland communities for over 100 years.  Our 15,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers care for and support people from all walks of life, including older people, people with a disability, children, families and Indigenous people. 

 

We are currently seeking a Business Support Team Leader to be responsible for the operations and leadership of business support services within the central support office of UnitingCare Queensland.  The role will be accountable for the delivery of quality services that meet the needs of a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, employees, contractors, partner organisations and suppliers.

 

Key responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Provide team leadership in order to foster a one team approach and ensure that team members work seamlessly across service streams to deliver outcomes.
  • Develop a high performance team that is accountable and operates with role clarity, including the allocation of individual service ‘leads’ to drive processes.
  • Build an internal communication agenda that supports the ongoing development of efficient and effective services and builds awareness of business support services within UCQ.
  • Drive collaborative stakeholder engagement, internally and externally, and act as the main point of contact for business support issues.
  • Operate as a key member of the UCQ Administration team in order to both promote business support services and ensure a collaborative, two-way dialogue to continually improve services.
  • Drive a process improvement agenda across all Business Support services in order to maximise consolidation and cost saving opportunities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Team leadership experience gained in an office administration environment, ideally in diverse, customer focused operating environment.
  • Stakeholder engagement experience across a broad range of stakeholder groups including executive leadership and suppliers of key services.
  • Experience in the operational management of business support/office services, with demonstrable knowledge of relevant procedures.
  • IT skills including the MS Office suite and email systems (eg MS Outlook)
  • Excellent coaching skills to develop team member potential and build a high performance team culture.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial principles including the operation of a P&L statement.
  • Knowledge of facilities management would be advantageous but not essential.

Some knowledge of the community care sector and the needs of vulnerable people would be an advantage but not essential
