Position Summary

UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

 

With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.

 

We are seeking the services of a qualified Maintenance Plumber to work within our Engineering team.

 

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Prime responsibilities include those of maintenance, repair, installation and monitoring of all hydraulic services, medical gas systems, cooling towers, potable and non-potable water systems, including filtration and dosing systems
  • Provide support to all Hospital staff to enable the safe operation of all facilities
  • Monitor the operation of all Hospital services/systems so as to prevent or reduce down time and increase equipment utilisation
  • To adhere to and implement all requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act as it applies to a Hospital environment
  • Monitor, assess and replenish all applicable spare parts items for the efficient operation of all Hospital Plant and systems
  • Participate in an out of hours call out roster to ensure 24-hour coverage for the hospital, and to be available for such overtime as is required to ensure equipment availability
  • Assist the engineering plant supervisor / engineer with capital projects and works as directed.
