Position Summary

Employment Status: Permanent Part Time, 24 hours per week

Location: St Stephens Hospital

Classification: Registered Nurse – Level 2

Remuneration Value: $46.37 - $49.68 p/h (FTE $91, 627 - $98,167), 9.5% employee contribution to super, 17.5% annual leave loading + not for profit salary packaging benefit + cumulative study leave.

 

St Stephens Hospital are inviting internal applications for a permanent part-time Patient Safety Officer role!

 

About the Role:

A key role in supporting Quality and Safety, you will provide expertise in clinical incident management and drive the hospital wide patient safety program.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide expertise and leadership to support the quality and clinical incident management system and related patient activities.
  • Review, follow up and posting of incidents in Riskman.
  • Review of hospital policies, procedures and work instructions as required.
  • Coordinate mortality reviews to assist in identifying process or service issues and assist with implementation of service improvement.

 

You will present with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in nursing with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills. An advanced degree in a health care related field is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse 
  • Completion of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care - Infection Prevention and Control Modules
  • Experience with reviewing incidents and errors
  • Experience in the ISO or ACHS Certification process is desirable
  • An understanding of the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards
