The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital is seeking expressions of interest from current employees for the following role –

• Patient Safety Officer
• Permanent Part-time (16 hours per week)

The position reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for supporting various aspects of the hospital wide patient safety program, working towards process improvements that will support Living Values with a focus on factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in Patient Safety.

To perform the duties of this role you will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing with appropriate knowledge, experience and skills in a broad range of clinical areas;
• An advanced degree in midwifery or other health care related filed is desirable;
• Knowledge of ISO, NSQHS and OHO, as well as an understanding of the UnitingCare Health Quality Improvement program;
• Knowledge of Health Fund contracts and issues relating to Hopsital acquired complications on funding;
• Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety;
• Excelent interpersonal communication skills across all specialties;
• Excellent written report writing skills.
