About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Clinical Coding Educator to join the team at The Wesley Hospital in a full time permanent position.
This role will see you implement and coordinate the Clinical Coding Education Program including education schedules that incorporate coder competencies, education training sessions and feedback based on outcomes of both internal and external audits. You will also develop, implement and coordinate the Clinical Documentation Improvement strategy – this includes education sessions, presentations and provision of advice for clinicians to ensure an understanding of how clinical documentation impacts clinical coding and health fund reimbursement.
Along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will ideally present with the following:
- Bachelor of Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent HIMAA Accredited Clinical Coding Certification
- Extensive experience coding in a hospital environment
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM, ACHI, ACS and AR-DRGs.
- Experience with 3M Codefinder, MS Office suite
- Proven Ability to identify, plan, develop and deliver training and education to clinical coders and clinicians
- Experience in quality management across all aspects of clinical coding, clinical documentation and casemix
