Position Summary |
With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.
Our Allied Health divison provides exceptional support to our patient community across a range of services and disciplines.
We are currently seeking several experienced Dietitian (Level 3) to join our team in a short fixed term contract commencing immediately.
Reporting to the Head of Nutrition, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of Clinical Practice, Leadership, Clinical Governance and Workload Management is achieved through:
- Providing a high level of Medical Nutrition Therapy knowledge and skills across multiple clinical areas, ensuring excellence and compliance in the provision of services
- Providing clinical practice development and training opportunities to less experienced Allied Health Staff, assistants and students
- Contributing to service delivery, quality improvement or assurance projects and systems for the Allied Health services provided to patients and their families
- Contributing to the ongoing development of Allied Health services across the area
- Maintaining a clinical caseload to stay in touch with service delivery
As an experienced Dietitian you will present with:
- Minimum of 3 or more years post graduate experience
- Tertiary Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from recognised institute
- Current Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status with the DAA
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a high leave of clinical reasoning and decision making based on best practice
- Sound organisational skills and ability to manage a complex and variable caseload
- Strong interpersonal skills applied effectively within multidisciplinary environment
- Commitment to continuing professional development
