UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

Allied Health Metro brings together the existing Allied Health teams from The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, into one clinical service with a single management team. The integration provides opportunities for innovation, efficiencies and growth in services and improved productivity.

Allied Health Metro provides all Allied Health services (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) at both Hospitals. Allied Health Metro comprises of support staff and health professionals from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing and Psychology.

Located at the St Andrew's War Memorial Hospitatl as part of the Allied Health Metro Operations Management Team, the Operations Manager will be required to collaborate with other Operational Managers, Heads of Professions, Partners and Hospital Senior leadership teams to achieve the operational management, efficient and effective performance and growth of all Allied Health services within assigned portfolio. This includes finance, labour and budget management.

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria: 

• Tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health or Nursing Profession.
• Post Graduate qualifications in leadership and/ or management is desirable
• Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency where required
• Demonstrated high level of knowledge, substantial experience and skills in Allied Health Services Operations Management including the ability to successfully meet budget, labour and key performance indicator targets
• Proven experience in the planning, development and implementation of Allied Health services and / or service lines
• Proven Allied Health leadership, team development and managerial skills in an environment of organisational change in the delivery of Allied Health services
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and partnership building
• Demonstrated operational Allied Health workforce management knowledge and skills
• Demonstrated evidence of involvement in quality assurance and research activities
• Private Hospital experience and knowledge of health fund contracts is desirable.
