An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Patient Services Officer in a Permanent Part Time capacity. A key role in supporting Quality and Safety, you will provide expertise in clinical incident management and drive the hospital wide patient safety program.


You will be responsible for:

  • Management and coordination of hospital policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Manage and evaluate the monthly clinical audits to identify patient safety issues and assist in monitoring interventions and providing recommendations.
  • Participate in clinical investigations including HEAPS investigations
  • Communicate with staff on patient safety issues and work towards delivering actions arising from HEAPS and other incident reviews at a local level.
  • Participate in committees and working parties to address clinical issues such as pressure injuries and medication safety.
  • Coach and assist staff in completing risk assessments within the clinical environment.

You will present with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in nursing with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills. An advanced degree in a health care related field is desirable. 
  • Experience in the ISO or ACHS Certification process is desirable.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety
  • Superior interpersonal skills both oral and written.
  • Proven experience in communicating effectively across disciplines
  • Strong leadership qualities (initiative ,enthusiastic, motivation)
  • Effective change agent
  • Sound knowledge of clinical audit systems.
  • Strong commitment to ensure that quality services are delivered to stakeholders through continuous improvement.
