The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.

Our sterilisation staff are accountable for cleaning, packing and sterilisation processes to ensure items are available for procedural areas. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and will be required to work  on a rotation throughout all areas of CSSD.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

• Possess a Certificate III in Sterilisation or working towards one;
• Recent experience in a CSSD & familiar with current best practice CSSD processes;
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills;
• An ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
• Possess a high level of organisational skills and an ability to prioritise efficiently;
• Participate in and initiate quality improvement activities;
• Clear verbal and written communication skills;
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts over a 7 day work roster.
