Position Summary

The Wesley are currently calling for applications for the role of Executive Chef, leading our kitchen brigade and overseeing the food production for our 500+ bed facility.

With over 150 employees, the Food Services Department is one of the largest and most diverse departments within the Wesley Hospital. Reporting to the Operations Manager of Food Services you will be supported by two Sous Chefs, ensuring the delivery of exceptional meals to our patients.

 

The kitchen brigade consists of 18 qualified chefs producing up to 500 meals per service in a cook fresh facility.  The standard operating hours of the kitchen are from 4:30am – 6:30pm, 7 days week, 365 days year.  The kitchen also caters for numerous functions and events throughout the year from 3-course plated dinners to buffet style services up to 1000 pax. 

 

You will present with previous management experience within a large volume health care environment or equivalent. You will present with strong leadership skills, particularly with respect to people, safety and quality. With a highly effective communication style, you’ll have a passion for training, educating and motivating others and present with:

  • Minimum Vocational Trade Qualification – Chef (essential).
  • Minimum five years experience in Executive/Head Chef role.
  • Experience with high volume meal production
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial management.
