The Wesley Hospital is inviting applications from experienced Registered Nurses for an opportunity in their Clinical School supporting Medical Students.

About the Role:  

 

In this diverse and challenging role, you’ll provide one on one support to the Head of School, whilst developing strong working relationships both internally with relevant hospital stakeholders and externally with affiliated university coordinators. Other duties will include:

  • Coordinating the education and administrative requirements of our visiting medical students through arranging clinical placements with VMOs and scheduling tutorials
  • Assisting the clinical subdeans & specialist tutors in various roles from sourcing and consenting hospital inpatients for bedside coaching to procuring requirements and setting up clinical skills stations
  • Undertaking required hospital orientations of the medical students at the commencement of placements at the relevant hospital & operating theatre orientations
  • Regular student meetings to assist with preparation for group presentations
  • Assist with reporting as required as well as preparing and attending unit meetings.

 

About You:

As a confident and experienced nurse, you’ll demonstrate a high standard of organisational and administrative skills, with a proven ability to apply your initiative in prioritising deadlines and negotiating outcomes within a challenging environment. 

 

You’ll also present with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or equivalent with current AHPRA registration
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office programs, email and database applications.
  • Solid understanding of health protocols i.e. confidentiality, emergency procedures
  • Drivers licence, a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between sites as required. 
  • The ability to quickly acquire the skill of surgical scrub/ gloving and gowning enabling you to undertake student assessments as required.
