Position Summary

The Allied Health Division provides all allied health services (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) in support of The Wesley Hospital and is responsible for the management of Allied Health programs across Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing, Psychology and Social Work.

 

The Wesley is currently seeking an Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse to coordinate their Pain Management Program in a new permanent full time opportunity. 

 

The Pain Program Co-ordinator plays a key role in supporting these professionals and the respective pain programs in our Outpatient department through the delivery of the following key functions:

  • Providing co-ordination and all administrative components required by the Pain Management Program, from point of referral to discharge.
  • Providing support to all staff within the Pain Management Program within Outpatient Services.
  • Supporting and liaising with the doctors to ensure longer term business needs are met within all areas of responsibility.
  • Fostering exceptional business practices, including the achievement of business key performance indicators and revenue targets.
  • Using highly effective communication skills and ability to liaise with health funds and funding bodies and departmental management.
  • Thorough understanding of the patient suffering persistent pain and methods to engage the patient within the program.

As an experienced Allied Health Professional OR Registered Nurse you will demonstrate clinical extensive in the area of Chronic Disease / Pain Management to assist with engagement of patients referred to the program. You will be an active team player with an ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a large multi-disciplinary team. You’ll have strong experience in the coordination of patients/services and present with: 

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and partnership building.
  • Highly effective administration and co-ordination capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of funding bodies including Medicare/HICAPs/DVA/Third Party and Workers’ Compensation and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contractual agreements and documentation regarding Private Health Funds.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable initiative, discretion and judgment in the performance of duties.

Allied Health Remuneration value: Level 3 Position, $47.62-$51.42 p/h (FTE $94, 097 - $101, 611), 9.5% employee contribution to super, 17.5% annual leave loading + not for profit salary packaging + discounted employee parking

 

Registered Nurse Remuneration value: Level 2 position, $44.14-$47.29 p/h (FTE $87, 220 - $93, 445), 9.5% employee contribution to super, 17.5% annual leave loading + not for profit salary packaging benefit + cumulative study leave.

 

This is full time permanent opportunity, rostered 76 hours p/fortnight
