Position Summary |
UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.
Allied Health provides all Allied Health services (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) comprising of support staff and health professionals from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing and Psychology.
Located at The Wesley Hospital and reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Allied Health Manager will be required to collaborate with other Operational Managers, Heads of Professions, Partners and the hospital Senior leadership team to achieve the operational management, efficient and effective performance and growth of all Allied Health services, this includes finance, labour and budget management.
Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in an Allied Health profession;
- Post Graduate qualifications in leadership and/ or management is desirable;
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent body;
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge, substantial experience and skills in Allied Health clinical practice;
- Proven leadership, team development and managerial skills in a comparable setting;
- Demonstrated experience in effective resource management, including budget accountability and financial management;
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, change management and partnership building;
- Ability to provide authoritative counsel relating to Allied Health to stakeholders within and outside of the discipline;
- Proven capability to provide clinical management of an Allied Health professionals team, including resource allocation, clinical supervision and leading change through quality and service improvement activities;
- Private Hospital experience and knowledge of health fund contracts is desirable.
