With 524 beds, The Wesley Hospital provides tertiary level medical and surgical services across 30 specialty areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health. These services are supported by an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, cardiac catheter theatres, 24-hour emergency centre, renal dialysis, radiology, radiation therapy, pathology, pharmacy services, IVF, haematology and oncology services.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join the Orthopaedics Unit in the role of Clinical Nurse Manager.  As Clinical Nurse Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Orthopaedics Unit, achieving set KPIs and working on initiatives across the ward, facility and organisation.  As the Clinical Nurse Manager you will be accountable for:

  • Achieving optimal patient care and organisational objectives through the use of effective management strategies, leadership, direction team building;
  • Assessing and responding appropriately to clinical nursing issues and concerns;
  • Maintaining professional standards of practice through the evaluation of nursing services;
  • Developing and managing a budget to acheive financial and organisational goals;
  • Demonstrating application of the principles of clinical and workplace risk management;
  • Identifying trends and variances through data analysis to support decision making;
  • Acheiving continuous Quality Improvement to optimise customer service and organisation outcomes, whilst complying with National Safety and Quality Standards. 

Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria: 

  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • High level post registration experience and clinical competence within a Orthopaedics environment;
  • Extensive clinical experience including recent roles in a leadership / management capacity;
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
