Position Summary

UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

 

We are currently seeking applications from newly Enrolled Nurses interested in transitioning their career to an acute hospital environment.

 

St Stephen's Hospital in Hervey Bay is Australia's first fully integrated digital hospital. With 96 patient beds, the state-of-the-art ‘hospital of the future’ provides vital medical and surgical services to the Fraser Coast and is the first hospital in Australia to showcase the future of how technology can transform the healthcare experience. As a registered charity and not-for-profit facility, St Stephen’s is committed to re-investing surplus funds for the development of the hospital, its services and its employees.

 

The Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program is a contracted 12 month general program (Part Time - 48-64hrs / fortnight) that will support your career progression to working in an acute care setting and includes:

 

•Two rotations;

•Full orientation and preceptored program;

•A caring environment with a network of support services;

•Extensive educational opportunities including study days, workshops and career planning opportunities;

•Graduate support meetings;

•Flexible rostering and salary packaging options to increase your take home pay.

 

To be considered for the Enrolled Nurse Program you must have:

 

•Registration as an Enrolled Nurse (with IV medication administration unit of competency – HLTEN519), with the Australian  Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) by November 2016;

•Be either an Australian Citizen, an Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand passport holder;

•Display effective interpersonal skills and be able to build rapport with a diverse range of people;

•Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development;

•Be willing to embrace the values of the St. Stephen’s Private Hospital and UnitingCare Health.

St Stephen’s Hospital Enrolled Nurse Graduate Program commences in February 2017. To be eligible for this program you must have AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse with IV medication administration unit of competency – HLTEN519) , with the Australian  Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) by February 2016 and be either an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand passport holder.

Essential: Have you previously applied for an Enrolled Nurse position with a UnitingCare Health hospital?
Essential: Are you registered or will you be eligible for Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse (MED) by February 2017.
Essential: Please indicate the month and year you graduated / will graduate from your Nursing Diploma?
Essential: Have you completed elective unit HLTEN519C (or HLTEN519A) - 'Administer and monitor intravenous medication' as part of your Nursing Diploma?
