About the Role:
We are currently inviting applications for a Permanent Full-Time Clinical Coding Auditor for a role at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital.
This position will be responsible for auditing the hospital’s coding documentation and identifying deficiencies with the aim of optimising DRG allocation to accurately reflect patient complexity and maximise hospital revenue. In addition, this role will provide support with the ongoing development and implementation of the organisation’s Coding Optimisation Program.
The successful applicant will ideally present with the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent HIMMA Accredited Clinical Coding Certification
- Experience coding in a hospital environment with a varied casemix
- Experience with 3M Codefinder, Cerner Patient Systems and PICQ
- Demonstrated experience conducting coding audits and collating, analysing and reporting results.
- Demonstrated experience in a comparable auditing role or demonstrated auditing potential and relevant technical skills suitable to fulfilling this role
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM, ACHI, ACS and AR-DRGs
- Sound understanding of auditing as a tool for continuous quality improvement, and to support compliance with the National Safety and Quality Service, EQUiP National, Aged Care and relevant professional and ethical standards and guidelines.
