UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.
Allied Health services (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) support The Wesley and St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital. Allied Health comprises support staff and health professionals from Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing and Psychology.
Reporting to the Head of Physiotherapy, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for contributing to Allied Health's strategic goals and objectives by:
- Delivering high quality Physiotherapy services in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards and in accordance with UnitingCare Health policies and procedures;
- Providing clinical practice supervision, mentoring and education to less experienced Physiotherapists, other Allied Health staff and Partners to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards;
- Collaborating with the Head of Physiotherapy to provide quality assurance for clinical services provided to patients and their families;
- Contributing to the strategic direction and ongoing development of Allied Health services and collaborating with colleagues across UnitingCare Health;
- Maintaining a clinical caseload.
Ideally, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following criteria:
- Tertiary degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution;
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency;
- Significant Neurological clinical experience in a comparable acute hospital and/or ambulatory service setting;
- Demonstrated high level clinical knowledge, expertise and skills in Physiotherapy;
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex and variable caseload;
- Evidence of involvement in quality or service delivery improvement initiatives;
- High level interpersonal and written communication skills;
- Sound computer literacy in Microsoft applications and knowledge of WH&S and clinical risk management requirements.
