Position Summary

UnitingCare Health is one of the largest not-for-profit private hospital groups in Queensland and is a service group of UnitingCare Queensland. The hospital group is a major provider of healthcare services in Queensland which operates almost 1000 licensed hospital beds and employs over 4200 people.

 

The Allied Health Metro Division provides all Allied Health Services (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) in support of the Wesley and St Andrew's War Memorial Hospitals.  The Division comprises support staff and health professionals from Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Nursing and Psychology.

 

The Allied Health Metro team is seeking a Patient Services Officer to join their team.  This position reports to the Team Leader, Outpatient Services and is responsible for providing high quality practice management and reception services, the management of patient accounts and related financial management.  You will also provide high level administration support to the Allied Health Metro team and Visiting Medical Practitioners.

 

To perform the duties of this role you will have:

  • Certificate III in Business or Practice Management equivalent;
  • Proven experience in front of house medical practice management and reception duties including patient enquiries;
  • Excellent, customer service, interpersonal, time management, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Medical Terminology;
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, SAP and other financial and practice management systems;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
